"The Steppenwolf"

"The Steppenwolf" is a cult novel of famous German-Swiss novelist Herman Hesse, it a bright example of philosophic novel common for Herman Hesse. The whole idea of this novel is the blend of two exact polarities. This idea is common for all the works of Herman Hesse. There were certain writers who impressed him greatly and made him crazy about the idea of duality of this world and everything we see in this world.

So, the story is about a man who stated that there are two creatures live in him. Those two creatures were the human being and the Steppenwolf. As you can see, the two polarities contained in one man. The men of letters say that it is the Hesse himself described in this novel. So, it is like the autobiography of writer's soul. And let's go back to our hero.

He is an old man who spends all his life in solitude. He has no family, no friends and no people he would care about and no people who would care about him. He is not really old with his body but he is at his latest anility in his soul. So, there were two creatures in him and those two creatures are polarities for each other. One is a good and of good from and the other one is cruel and brutal.

And the whole idea of the novel is that the creatures we create inside of us are not creatures indeed. There is no beast we have inside, there are only or drawbacks. But, people are too chicken to confess it and so they create beast in order to blame those beasts in all the deadly sins they have committed.
