"Notes from deadhouse"

As you may already know it is a philosophic novel by famous Russian novelist Feodor Dostoyevsky. It is a novel of those times when he finally managed to make his dream come true and settled at northern capital of Russia – Saint-Petersburg. Ant those were also times when he was released from gaol.
Being at gaol wasn't just another part of life of Dostoyevsky but it was the crucial point of his life and his creativity and his vision of this world. So, it is a novel about one who was imprisoned and who faced with realities of prison for the first time in his life. Actually, it is like a Dostoevsky himself. With this novel Dostoevsky changed mass opinion about prisons.
Though, he not only showed the real life of prisoners, the life deprived of any criminal romance, but he also revealed all the feelings they have and the most delicate features of their lives. Dostoyevsky showed the real life of prisoners. He told people about prisoners being half-shaved (in order to mark them out as criminals) and about brands they had on their foreheads.
That brand was eternal sign of criminal. Though, he also showed that no matter all those physical marks they had as criminals, they managed not to notice those and imagined like they are common people who live in some tiny and secret town. He showed that prison it is a peculiar world, where people refuse to believe that they are imprisoned, they create their own rules and norms and live there like common people live in their towns.
